This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced Occupational Therapists and new graduates seeking to build a rewarding career while making a meaningful impact on the lives of residents. As a member of the rehabilitation team, you will help ensure the health, well-being, independence, and quality of life of residents through comprehensive occupational therapy services.
This position includes a schedule of weekdays, with some weekend and holiday coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Initiate skilled occupational therapy treatments in accordance with physician orders and maintain required physician communication
Complete and maintain written evaluations, progress notes, MDS documentation, and discharge summaries
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to address residents' rehabilitation and functional maintenance needs
Participate in Resident Care Planning meetings and attend in the absence of the Director of Occupational Therapy when needed
Maintain statistical records of resident treatments and therapy outcomes
Assist with in-service education and training programs upon request
Record, update, and monitor resident care plans
Support residents in achieving their highest level of independence and functional ability
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Current state Occupational Therapy license required
Two years of occupational therapy experience preferred
Interest in working with geriatric and subacute populations using a team-based approach
Ability to supervise and direct others when necessary
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Professional maturity, diplomacy, and the ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and staff
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
Ability to work effectively with geriatric and chronically ill residents
Commitment to maintaining established standards of clinical excellence
