A leading commercial construction group is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple Class A projects, including office buildings, laboratories, and other high-end commercial facilities. This role manages the full project lifecycle—from preconstruction and contract execution through completion and closeout—while ensuring schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction remain top priorities.
The Ideal Candidate is a seasoned construction professional with 10–15+ years of experience managing ground-up Class A commercial projects. They excel at overseeing multiple projects, navigating complex schedules, budgets, and documentation, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. They’re highly organized, strong communicators, and confident managing the full construction lifecycle with Procore, MS Project, and detailed contract administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final turnover.
- Manage 2–3 Class A projects simultaneously, maintaining schedule, budget, and quality.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (MS Project or similar).
- Oversee project budgets, contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and documentation.
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and ensure constructability and coordination.
- Identify risks, scope gaps, and scheduling issues; develop proactive solutions.
- Partner closely with Superintendents and field teams to maintain project progress.
- Manage subcontractor performance, coordination, and contractual compliance.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
- Lead project meetings and oversee project closeout, punch lists, warranties, and turnover.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of commercial construction experience; 10–15+ years preferred.
- Proven experience managing ground-up Class A commercial projects.
- Experience with office buildings, laboratories, life science facilities, or other specialized commercial builds.
- Strong understanding of contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, schedules, budgets, and documentation.
- Proficiency with Procore and MS Project (or similar platforms).
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- PMP, CCM, or similar certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk job sites, climb stairs, and navigate active construction environments.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during office-based work.
- Occasional lifting of plans, documents, or materials (up to 20 lbs.).
